TED created TEDx, a program of local, student-organised events to bring people together and provide fascinating talks, particularly in Technology, Entertainment and Design (TED).

This year's theme is going to be Breaking Barriers - The aim is to focus the talks towards those ideas that have broken the established norm and set forth to achieve things that would not have been possible otherwise.
TED is a not-for-profit organisation that provides general guidance for the TEDx program but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organised and student run.
