Nature has had billions of years of evolution to optimise its processes, to be as efficient as possible. What can we learn from what nature does best?

Prof. Desmulliez is a pioneer of Nature Inspired Design. Complementing modern industrial techniques with sustainable ones. As Deputy Head of the Institute of Sensors, Signals and Systems (ISSS) at Heriot-Watt University, Desmulliez is in a key position to translate research into practical applications.

His company, Microsense Technologies, recently won the Converge Challenge 2016, and will be providing the food and drink industry with cutting-edge techniques.
